The work started with the program pages. Instead of designing each page one at a time, I built a set of reusable templates for every format the school offers: seminar, workshop, mentorship, online intensive, and retreat, with two- and three-faculty versions for the retreats. Each template uses the same core blocks so writers can quickly see who a program is for and what they'll leave with.
Some formats needed their own tools. Retreat pages have horizontal photo galleries of the farm and day-by-day schedules. Intensive pages use a two-step application flow that connects to the school's Bookeo deposit system.
The homepage was restructured around a clear introduction, a What We Do overview, and dedicated sections for faculty and access. I worked closely with the founder and copywriter through several rounds of copy and layout so the design and the words developed together.
The result is a cohesive, template-driven site that lets Whale Rock add new programs without redesigning pages, and gives writers a clearer path from browsing to applying.
